FRANCOPHONIE DAY

On Wednesday we celebrated International FRANCOPHONIE DAY! Francophonie Day is celebrated every March 20th and marks the significance of the French language in helping diverse people come together toward global peace, understanding and respect between cultures. To celebrate together, DLI classes created posters representing different French-speaking countries and all our students had the opportunity to do a gallery walk to learn the importance of the French language and where it is spoken. Thank you DLI teachers and our intern, Constance, for your help in making this happen!

Great American Eclipse - DCSD Independent Learner Day

In observance of the Great American Eclipse, the DeKalb County School District (DCSD) will have an independent learning day for students and school-based employees on Monday, April 8, 2024. (Note: All 12-month district-level employees will report to their regularly assigned work locations.)

The independent learning day activities will provide safe viewing and instructional opportunities to experience the partial solar eclipse. Although Georgia is not in the solar eclipse path, you will be able to see a partial eclipse, which is expected to begin at 1:45 p.m. and end at 4:21 p.m. Even with a partial eclipse, everyone must protect their eyes by wearing eclipse-viewing glasses.

Please visit https://science.nasa.gov/eclipses/future-eclipses/eclipse-2024/safety/ for more safety tips.

The DCSD 2024-2029 Strategic Plan survey has reopened!
